Fort Smith, AR Photos

Fort Smith was established in1817 to maintain peace between Indian tribes & American settlers & became a waypoint on the forced native resettlement Trail of Tears to the Oklahoma Territories. The town of Fort Smith gained some prosperity from the presence of this fort on the Arkansas River & has made an effort to preserve & feature its Victorian homes.
