Mark Twain & Harriet Beecher Stowe Compound, Hartford Photos

Mark Twain & Harriet Beecher Stowe were friends who built neighboring houses, which are open to honor these two authors. Twain was a preeminent American humorist best noted for Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn. Harriet Beecher Stowe's book Uncle Tom's Cabin had a profound impact on the abolition of slavery movement.
