Henry Clay's Ashland estate, Lexington Photos

Henry Clay (1777-1852) practiced law in Lexington, before becoming a Congressman & Senator. His contribution as an orator led to compromises which postponed the Civil War for many years. His house is open to the public & boasts significant gardens.
