Oak Alley Plantation on Mississippi River Road Photos

Oak Alley Plantation (1837-9) (3645 River Road, LA#18 in Vacherie, LA) is the mansion seen through a row of great oak trees which serves as the signature attraction for the River Road Region. While the trees were planted in the early 1700s, the present house dates from 1839 by Jacques Telesphore Roman, a Creole sugar planter.
