New York Public Library (1911) in Bryant Park Photos

New York Public Library (1911) (476 Fifth Ave.) by Carrere & Hastings is a Beaux Arts building. While the Fifth Ave. steps flanked by lions is the traditional view, the rear facade over Bryant Park conveys greater peace. Bryant Park itself is ringed by highrises in various styles. These include HSBC (1984) with Knox Hat (1902); Bryant Park Hotel (1924); Bank of America (2008); HBO Headquarters; Grace Towers (1974) by SOM; Salmon Tower (1927) by York & Sawyer; & Transportation Building (1931) by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon.
