Rockefeller Center, New York (from 1931) Photos

Rockefeller Center is a complex of buildings, landscaping and Art Deco artwork built from 1931 on by The Associated Architects. The GE (aka RCA) Building (1933) (69 floors) is considered the centerpiece of the complex. The 14 buildings include 1270 Avenue of the Americas (1931), GE Building (1933), International Building (1935), Time-Life Building (1937), Associated Press Building (1938), Simon & Schuster Building (1939), Eastern Airlines Building (1940), & Manufacturers Hanover Building (1952). Artist who created the artwork include Lee Lawrie & Paul Manship plus Alfred Janniot, Attilio Piccirilli, Rene Paul Chambellan, Carl Paul Jennewein & Isamu Noguchi. Radio City Music Hall is part of the Center but by architect Edward Durell Stone.
