Madison Square is ringed by several of the most architecturally important structures in New York including the Flatiron Building, New York Life, and Metropolitan Life Insurance Buildings plus the Appellate Division Courthouse of New York State. There are also appealing streetscapes of apartment building. Madison Square is the site of statues commemorating President Chester A.
