United States Custom House, New York Photos

The United States Custom House (1899-1907) on Bowling Green, now the Alexander Hamilton Custom House & National Museum of American Indian is a landmark structure designed by Cass Gilbert in the Beaux Art style. It is notable for the sculptures of four continents by Daniel Chester French. Inside, the rotunda is decorated with WPA-sponsored murals (1937) by Reginald Marsh showing ocean liners in New York harbor.
