American Museum of Natural History & Rose Center for Earth & Space, New York Photos

The American Museum of Natural History with its significant dinosaur & mineral collections might give the impression that the focus is on stuffed animals. However, the cultural anthropology emphasis by the museum has resulted in major collections of arts & crafts from around the world which also make the museum a major art museum. This large building facing Central Park West was enhanced in 2000 when a multistoried glass cube, the Rose Center for Earth & Space, opened. Given that Theodore Roosevelt was instrumental in the founding of the Museum, his statue stands outside the main entrance.
