Nicholas J. Clayton Architecture Photos

Nicholas J. Clayton (1839-1916) born in Ireland, immigrated to Ohio in the 1840s, served in the Civil War & then opened an architectural practice in Galveston in about 1872. He is noted for the flamboyant style he set in Texas in buildings such as the Galveston Bishop's Palace.
