King Louis XII Photos

French King Louis XII reigned 1498-1515. Previously known as the Duke of Orléans, after becoming king, Louis XII had his current marriage annulled in order to wed Anne of Brittany to strengthen the union of France and Brittany to which Brittany was resistant. Louis XII was a popular king who allowed local governments' power, reduced taxes and instituted legal reforms.
