Nancy, France Photos

Nancy is known for Place Stanislas (1755), designed by Emmanuel Héré de Corny, and its extraordinary gilded wrought-iron gates & railings with crests & floral decorations by Jean Lamour. The square was built to honor Louis XV on the orders of his father-in-law Stanislas Leszczynski, King of Poland, who controlled the area at that time.
