Ogee Clocks Photos

American Ogee clocks (popular 1830-1914) were mantel, shelf or wall clocks, rectangular in-shape with an upper clear glass door over the clock face and a lower door covering the pendulum. The glass of the lower door was covered with either a scenic painting or print which often reveals important historical values. An angular or swans neck pediment often forms a top molding & sometimes the rectangle is flanked by columns popular in French Empire styles.
