St Stephen Photos

St Stephen (martyred 34 CE) is considered the first Christian martyr. As a deacon appointed by the Apostles, he visited synagogues to preach Christianity & denounced Jewish authorities. The resulting anger lead to his death by stoning.

Attrib. 3 stones. (sometimes confused with 3 bags of gold symbol of St Nicholas. Do not confuse with St Stephen, 1st King of Hungary.)
