'Iolani Palace, Honolulu Photos

'lolani Palace (1882) designed by Thomas J. Baker, C.S. Wall, & Isaac Moore in Renaissance Revival style is the only Royal Palace in the United States. It had electricity and telephones even before the White House. The 'Iolani Barracks (1870), a coral rock castle, was moved to its current location on the Palace grounds when its old site was needed for the construction of the Hawaii State Capitol in 1969. A Coronation Pavilion (1883) is also on the grounds.
