The Old Cathedral in Vincennes, IN, centers on a Catholic parish started in 1750 to serve French fur traders and colonists who traveled inland from Quebec. The Old Cathedral itself was built in 1826, with an interior enhanced over the years with paintings (1870) and stained glass (1908). The parish played a significant role in history when it sided with the Americans over the British in the Revolutionary War.
