Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff in Buffalo, NY Photos

Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff, also called the Isabelle R. Martin House (1926-9) was the summer home for the wife of Darwin D. Martin, executive of the Larkin Company which gave Wright his first major office building commission. At 6472 Old Lake Shore Road in the town of Derby, this house with its outbuildings overlooks Lake Erie, sitting on top of a gray cliff from which much of the building's stone was quarried. The gardens were designed by Ellen Biddle Shipman.
