Vanderbilt Mansion, Hyde Park, NY Photos

Vanderbilt Mansion (1898) was one of several homes used by the Vanderbilt family whose scion Cornelius made their money in shipping & railroads. This Beaux-Arts mansion which was only used by the family in the Spring & Fall was designed for Frederick William Vanderbilt by prominent architect Charles Follin McKim of McKim, Mead & White. It is now run by the National Parks Service.
