George Washington Monuments & Portraits Photos

George Washington, 1st US President (1789-1797) lived (1732-1799), originally a citizen of Virginia is most famous for being the General of the Continental Army which defeated the British & gained independence for the American colonies. As such major monuments were erected in his honor & places he stayed at even briefly were preserved as memorials.
