Chimney Point, VT and Crown Point, NY Photos

Chimney Point, Vermont & Crown Point, New York sit on opposite sides of a narrows of Lake Champlain. Samuel de Champlain stopped here on his exploration (1609) of the lake which now bears his name. Crown Point hosts the Samuel de Champlain Tricentennial (1909) lighthouse & monument (1911-12). Chimney Point State Historic Site Museum occupies a former tavern overlooking the lake. The Lake Champlain Bridge (2011) crosses at this point.
